My Story

Eric Antonio Lorick wass aaded to  the Body of Christ at the Metropolitan Church of Christ in May 1991, after learning the gospel from Brother Kevin Bethea, of the East Baltimore Church of Christ. In 1995, he was part of a dedicated group that established the Church of Christ in Baltimore. Eric frequently attributes his understanding of the gospel to mentor, Elmer Sembly Jr., teaching style he describes as “simple enough for a child to understand.” Eric's ministry experience encompasses roles as an Elder, Deacon, and Bible class teacher for both adults and young men, along with offering premarital counseling. He served as Christian Life Minister from 2012 to 201, Elder from 2006 to 2012, and Deacon from 1997 to 2001 at the East Baltimore Congregation. Currently, he is the Senior Minister at Inner City Church of Christ in Baltimore, a congregation founded in 2014 the East Baltimore Church of Christ. Brother Lorick has participated in the Churches of Christ Mid-Atlantic Lectureships, Gospel Meetings, and workshops throughout the, and was involved in coordination of the 2019 Mid-Atlantic Churches of Christ Lectureship. He an Associate of Arts degree in Bible Studies from the Northeast Baltimore Bible Institute and College with a focus on Christian Counseling, and is a graduate of the Sunset International Bible Institute External Studies program. Brother Lorick retired in 2004 from AT&T/Lucent Technologies after 31 years. The Loricks also operated the first Church of Christ Christian bookstore in the Northeast from 2009 to 2016. In June 2023, Eric assumed the role of Elder at the Inner City Church of Christ while continuing as Senior Minister. In2024, he and his wife Andrea, will celebrate 50 years of marriage, blessed two adult children, Erica Gross and Joseph Lorick. They welcomed their first great-grandchild in 2025 and cherish time with their five grandchildren. In December 2025 Brother Eric announced his immediate as Elder at the Inner City Church of Christ and plans step down as Senior Minister, with a recommendation for his successor anticipated soon.
