 Inner City Church of Christ History
Building In Faith
In early 2013, due to the bounty of blessings received by the East Baltimore COC congregation, Minister Kevin Bethea, and its leadership agreed to collaborate with Brother Eric Lorick and others on a new church planting in the inner-city area of Baltimore, Maryland. We at Inner City are eternally grateful to their commitment to carrying out the Great Commission in spreading the Gospel of Christ as well as their expertise and experience to launch this missionary work in the region of Baltimore successfully.

On January 5, 2014, we held our first worship service at the Furley Recreation Center in Baltimore City. In January 2015 the growing congregation moved to 5401 Belair Road. In September 2018, the Lord blessed the Inner-City COC congregation with the purchase of a building on 1.3 acres in addition to a house at 5718 Bowleys Lane. This property is in the same neighborhood we have been laboring in for the past five years.
April 2014 Bro. Eric Lorick was installed as Sr. Minister and Bro. Rodney Dashiell was ordained as Asst. Minister. In January 2016. Bro. Dashiell moved to another work. We are forever grateful to the whole Dashiell family for their foundational work in helping to establish the Inner City COC congregation.

 

From 2015 – 2017, brothers Joseph Lorick and Raymond Beale were ordained Associate Ministers, Brandon Simons became Ministry Leader of the Bible Education Ministry and Timothy Mack became Ministry Leader of the Young Adult Ministry. 
In 2018 Brother Raymond Beale and Joseph Lorick were appointed Assistant Ministers. Brandon Simons and Timothy Mack began Minister’s Training.

The Evangelism Ministry team under the leadership of Bro. Raymond Beale through the grace of God has taught and baptized from 2014-2018 many souls.
The Education Ministry under the leadership of Bro. Brandon Simons held its first VBS in 2018 . Community Back to School drive sponsored by the Young Adult Ministry was successful for its third year in a row under the leadership of Bro. Timothy Mack.
Women’s Ministry “Women of Purpose” under the coordination of Andrea Lorick began in 2014. We initiated the girls mentoring program ‘True Beauty” first coordinated by Nikia Williams. From 2017 to present Kimberly Colbert & Carolyn Mack have tried to follow in her footsteps. Sister2Sister Fellowship was coordinator from 2014-2016 by Tiffany Green in 2017 to present by Nakeia Wallace. The Annual Mother & Daughter Luncheon has had several years of successful attendance and spiritually uplifting speakers.

In 2019 Bro. Timothy Mack was ordained as Youth Minister and Young Adult Minister after 3 years of training and faithful work as a Ministry Leader. In October 2020 Bro. Mack step down as Youth Minister, his hard work and love shown to the  youth of the congregation will always be appreciated.

In 2020 Bro. M. Kerr coordinated the homeless program giving away with the support of InnerCity members distributed clothing,shoes,  coats and other  esstenial items to the homeless population in Baltimore City.

 

In March of 2020 due to COVI19 worship service for 4 months were held only on line ,the in person and online worship began again in June 2020. Covid19 still effects many members in the years 2020-2021 but God is still faithful, we were able to maintain our  building  for worship evangelize, and continue to do the mission of the church. "Spreading The Gospel"

October 2021 Donnie & Chanell Whitfield place membership at the InnerCity Church of Christ. Bro. Whitfield already an ordainned Evangelist took on the stewardship of Evangelism at InnerCity Church of Christ and joined the leadeship team.

 

2022Education Ministry began the Spring-Fall Kidz Konnection Children Christian Character Building Program. This program consist of outdoor classroom activity and outreach to community children. 

 

In 2023 We held our first Black History Month program coordinated by Chaneel Whitfield and Caroyln Mack
